=Owens Corning (OC) reported earnings on Wed 25 July 2018 (b/o)



Owens Corning misses by $0.28, misses on revs; sees FY18 adj EBIT of $925-975 mln 
  • Reports Q2 (Jun) earnings of $1.17 per share, excluding items, $0.28 worse than the Capital IQ Consensus of $1.45; revenues rose 14.2% year/year to $1.82 bln vs the $1.86 bln Capital IQ Consensus; EBIT of $206 mln and Adjusted EBIT of $214 mln.
  • 2018 Guidance:Pricing momentum expected to drive strong second-half performance improvement, resulting in an adjusted ebit outlook of $925 million to $975 million for 2018. In 2018, the company expects to convert adjusted earnings into free cash flow at about 100%. Capital additions in 2018 are expected to total ~$500 million. "In the second-half, we expect continued commercial execution and improved operational performance. We expect strong financial results for 2018 with momentum heading into 2019."

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) _ Owens Corning (OC) on Wednesday reported first-quarter earnings of $92 million.
The Toledo, Ohio-based company said it had net income of 82 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 80 cents per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 96 cents per share.
The construction materials company posted revenue of $1.69 billion in the period, surpassing Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.61 billion.
Owens Corning shares have fallen 18 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 22 percent in the last 12 months.

Owens Corning beats by $0.12, beats on revs :
  • Reports Q2 (Jun) earnings of $1.20 per share, excluding non-recurring items, $0.12 better than the Capital IQ Consensus of $1.08; revenues rose 3.4% year/year to $1.6 bln vs the $1.48 bln Capital IQ Consensus.
  • Outlook: The company continues to expect an environment consistent with consensus expectations for U.S. housing starts and moderate global industrial production growth. In Roofing, second-quarter volumes remained strong and first-half shingle shipments were up mid-single digits. The company now expects that continued growth in new construction and reroof demand will offset potential declines from storm activity, resulting in a relatively flat market for 2017. For full-year 2017, the company expects adjusted EBIT of at least $825 million, as growth accelerates in the second half of the year.

Owens Corning beats by $0.18, reports revs in-line :
  • Reports Q1 (Mar) earnings of $0.53 per share, excluding non-recurring items, $0.18 better than  the Capital IQ Consensus of $0.35; revenues rose 2.3% year/year to $1.23 bln vs the $1.24 bln Capital IQ Consensus. 
  • Adjusted EBIT in the first quarter of 2016 were $118 mln, up from $60 mln in 2015. Reported EBIT for the first quarter was $116 mln, compared with $58 mln during the same period in 2015.
  • Outlook: In Composites, the company expects continued growth in the glass fiber market, driven by moderate global industrial production growth. Based on the strong start to the year, Owens Corning now expects EBIT improvement of at least $30 mln. In Roofing, given the strong start to the year and recent storm activity, the company now sees upside to its prior guidance of modest market growth in 2016.
