HAMILTON, Bermuda (AP) _ Helen of Troy Ltd. (HELE) on Tuesday reported fiscal third-quarter net income of $49.5 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
The Hamilton, Bermuda-based company said it had profit of $1.88 per share. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense and to account for discontinued operations, were $2.40 per share.
The personal and household products company posted revenue of $431.1 million in the period.
Helen of Troy expects full-year earnings in the range of $7.70 to $7.95 per share, with revenue in the range of $1.54 billion to $1.55 billion.
Helen of Troy shares have climbed slightly more than 1 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 39 percent in the last 12 months.

Helen of Troy beats by $0.40, beats on revs; raises FY18 EPS above consensus; reaffirms FY19 revenue guidance 
  • Reports Q1 (May) earnings of $1.87 per share, excluding non-recurring items, $0.40 better than the Capital IQ Consensus of $1.47; revenues rose 9.0% year/year to $354.7 mln vs the $333.75 mln Capital IQ Consensus. Consolidated gross profit margin increased 0.9 percentage points to 41.3% compared to 40.4%.
  • Co issues raised guidance for FY19, sees EPS of $7.45-7.70 from $7.30-7.55, excluding non-recurring items, vs. $7.42 Capital IQ Consensus Estimate; reaffirms FY19 revs of $1.485-1.510 bln vs. $1.5 bln Capital IQ Consensus Estimate.

Helen of Troy (HELE) The maker of a wide range of personal products such as Brut, Vitalis and Revlon handily beat estimates on both its top and bottom lines in the period. Helen of Troy says sales jumped 15.4% despite a drag caused by the strong dollar. And the company is boosting its full year earnings and revenue forecasts.
