Hasbro beats by $0.32, beats on revs 
  • Reports Q1 (Mar) earnings of $0.21 per share, $0.32 better than the S&P Capital IQ Consensus of ($0.11); revenues rose 2.3% year/year to $732.51 mln vs the $665.96 mln S&P Capital IQ Consensus.
  • First quarter 2019 U.S. and Canada segment net revenues increased 1% to $357.9 million compared to $353.9 million in 2018. Revenue growth in Franchise Brands, Hasbro Gaming and Emerging Brands was partially offset by a decline in Partner Brands.
  • Franchise Brands revenue increased 9% to $393.6 million. MAGIC: THE GATHERING, MONOPOLY, PLAY-DOH and TRANSFORMERS revenues increased in the quarter.

  • Reports Q1 (Mar) earnings of $0.10 per share, excluding non-recurring items, $0.23 worse thanthe Capital IQ Consensus of $0.33; revenues fell 15.7% year/year to $716.3 mln vs the $816 mln Capital IQ Consensus.
  • "Our underlying financial strength is sound, and despite the near-term challenges associated with a major customer liquidation, Hasbro is positioned to manage a challenging 2018 and drive growth in 2019 and beyond....The quarter's revenue and profits were negatively impacted by lower revenues and higher expenses associated with events that do not reflect the health of our underlying business. PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) _ Hasbro Inc. (HAS) on Monday reported second-quarter earnings of $67.7 million.
On a per-share basis, the Pawtucket, Rhode Island-based company said it had profit of 53 cents.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 46 cents per share.
The toy maker posted revenue of $972.5 million in the period, which did not meet Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $973 million.
Hasbro shares have climbed 49 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has risen 10 percent. The stock has risen 44 percent in the last 12 months.

  • Reports Q3 (Sep) earnings of $2.03 per share, $0.29 better than the Capital IQ Consensus of $1.74; revenues rose 14.2% year/year to $1.68 bln vs the $1.55 bln Capital IQ Consensus. 
  • Third quarter 2016 revenues grew in all major operating segments: The U.S. and Canada segment increased 16%; International segment increased 13%, including a negative $3.0 mln impact of foreign exchange; The Entertainment and Licensing segment increased 8%. International segment net revenues increased 13% to $690.7 mln compared to $612.6 mln in 2015.
  • Revenues grew in the Boys, Girls and Preschool categories, and was flat in the Games category. On a regional basis, Europe grew 16%, Latin America increased 9%, and Asia Pacific was up 1%.
