Reports Q2 (Jul) earnings of $0.62 per share, excluding non-recurring items, $0.04 better than the S&P Capital IQ Consensus of $0.58; revenues rose 6.5% year/year to $752.5 mln vs the $752.2 mln S&P Capital IQ Consensus.
  • Brand Portfolio sales of $359.6 mln, up 17.9%.
  • Famous Footwear total sales of $419.8 mln, with same-store-sales up +1.5%.
  • Co says it's on-track to deliver eighth consecutive year of positive back-to-school same-store-sales.

Caleres misses by $0.07, beats on revs; lowers FY19 EPS, raises revenue guidance
  • Reports Q3 (Oct) earnings of $0.81 per share, including $0.02 of dilution from Vionic acquisition, $0.07 worse than the S&P Capital IQ Consensus of $0.88; revenues rose 0.2% year/year to $776 mln vs the $765 mln S&P Capital IQ Consensus. Famous Footwear same-store-sales were up 2.8%. Total sales of $448.8 million were down 5.1% as expected, as one week of back-to-school sales shifted into the second quarter of this year versus the third quarter of last year. Brand Portfolio sales of $327.1 million were up 8.5%, including Vionic. Gross margin -60 bps to 40.3%.

Caleres misses by $0.05, misses on revs; reaffirms FY18 guidance 
  • Reports Q3 (Oct) earnings of $0.80 per share, $0.05 worse than the Capital IQ Consensus of $0.85; revenues rose 5.8% year/year to $774.66 mln vs the $785.75 mln Capital IQ Consensus.
    • Famous Footwear total sales of $473.1 million were up 1.1%, while back-to-school same-store-sales were up 2.6% and third quarter same-store-sales were up 0.9%.
    • In total, third quarter sales were negatively impacted by approximately $35 million, due to the hurricanes in Texas and Florida and the delayed start to the fall boot season.
    • Inventory of $598.4 million was up 14.0% year-over-year, including Allen Edmonds.
  • Co guidance for FY18, sees EPS of 2.10-2.20 vs. $2.16 Capital IQ Consensus Estimate.

Caleres (CAL) reported earnings on Tue 11/22/16 (a/h)

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Caleres Inc. (CAL) on Tuesday reported fiscal third-quarter earnings of $34.7 million.

The St. Louis-based company said it had profit of 81 cents per share. That compares with the average analyst estimate of 80 cents, according to a survey by FactSet.
The footwear wholesaler and retailer posted revenue of $732.2 million in the period.
Caleres Inc. expects full-year earnings in the range of $2 to $2.10 per share, with revenue in the range of $2.57 billion to $2.6 billion.
Caleres Inc. shares have climbed 6 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $28.45, a decrease of nearly 2 percent in the last 12 months.
