In the third fiscal quarter we realized our first computer vision design wins in the automotive market and in the current quarter we expect our first mass production computer vision revenue from the professional surveillance camera market."

    =Ambarella (AMBA) reported earnings Thur 3 March 2016 (a/h)

Ambarella (AMBA) is lower after light guidance overshadowed a better-than-expected fourth quarter.

The company said it earned 64 cents a share on revenue of $68 million. Analysts were looking for 45 cents in per-share earnings on revenue of $64.4 million.

However, it’s forecast wasn’t as bright. Ambarella expects revenues between $55 million and $57 million in the first quarter, below the $62.4 million analysts had forecast.

Ambarella’s stock price has long been tied to GoPro (GPRO), one of its biggest customers. In December a better-than-expected third quarter was overshadowed by weak guidance that investors parsed for GoPro implications.

Still, analysts are getting more bullish on the stock. Late last year Craig Hallum said Ambarella had life beyond GoPro. Stifel was bullish on Ambarella to start the year and recommended buying the shares before earnings on Monday. Dougherty & Co. also upgraded the Ambarella last month.
