SEATTLE (AP) _ Avalara Inc. (AVLR) on Tuesday reported a loss of $18.4 million in its fourth quarter.
The Seattle-based company said it had a loss of 28 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for stock option expense and amortization costs, were 19 cents per share.
The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for a loss of 19 cents per share.
The provider of cloud-based software services posted revenue of $76.9 million in the period, topping Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $71.3 million.
For the year, the company reported a loss of $75.6 million, or $1.95 per share. Revenue was reported as $272.1 million.
For the current quarter ending in April, Avalara said it expects revenue in the range of $78 million to $79 million.
The company expects full-year revenue in the range of $328 million to $332 million.
Avalara shares have climbed 41 percent since the beginning of the year.
