BURNABY, British Columbia (AP) _ Ballard Power Systems Inc. (BLDP) on Wednesday reported a loss of $6 million in its third quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Burnaby, British Columbia-based company said it had a loss of 3 cents.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 2 cents per share.
The fuel cell technology company posted revenue of $21.6 million in the period, which also fell short of Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $31.3 million.
The company's shares closed at $3.66. A year ago, they were trading at $5.
