DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. (AP) _ Dover Corp. (DOV) on Thursday reported third-quarter earnings of $178.9 million.
The Downers Grove, Illinois-based company said it had net income of $1.14 per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $1.16 per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 10 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.11 per share.
The manufacturer posted revenue of $2.01 billion in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.98 billion.
Dover expects full-year earnings to be $4.23 to $4.33 per share.
Dover shares have climbed 25 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has climbed 14 percent. The stock has increased 39 percent in the last 12 months.
