- Achaogen reports 4Q loss
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (AP) _ Achaogen Inc. (AKAO) on Tuesday reported a loss of $29.7 million in its fourth quarter.
The South San Francisco, California-based company said it had a loss of $1.04 per share.
The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 47 cents per share.
The biopharmaceutical company posted revenue of $10.7 million in the period, also missing Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $11.3 million.
For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $71.2 million, or $3 per share. Revenue was reported as $41.8 million.
Achaogen shares have risen 94 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $25.27, rising sixfold in the last 12 months.
