OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (AP) _ YRC Worldwide Inc. (YRCW) on Monday reported a loss of $7.5 million in its fourth quarter.
The Overland Park, Kansas-based company said it had a loss of 23 cents per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 9 cents per share.
The trucking company posted revenue of $1.15 billion in the period, surpassing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.14 billion.
For the year, the company reported profit of $21.5 million, or 65 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $4.7 billion.
YRC shares have risen 13 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $15.02, an increase of 40 percent in the last 12 months.
