- Nu Skin misses 4Q profit forecasts
PROVO, Utah (AP) _ Nu Skin Enterprises Inc. (NUS) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter net income of $38.2 million.
On a per-share basis, the Provo, Utah-based company said it had profit of 69 cents. Earnings, adjusted for pretax expenses, came to 79 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 80 cents per share.
The seller of skin care and nutritional products through a direct-selling model posted revenue of $531.3 million in the period.
For the year, the company reported profit of $143.1 million, or $2.55 per share. Revenue was reported as $2.21 billion.
For the current quarter ending in April, Nu Skin said it expects revenue in the range of $480 million to $500 million.
The company expects full-year earnings to be $3.10 to $3.25 per share, with revenue ranging from $2.26 billion to $2.3 billion.
Nu Skin shares have risen 15 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $55.14, a climb of 90 percent in the last 12 months.
