HAMPTON, N.J. (AP) _ Celldex Therapeutics Inc. (CLDX) on Monday reported a loss of $29.6 million in its third quarter.

The Hampton, New Jersey-based company said it had a loss of 29 cents per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 32 cents per share.

The biopharmaceutical company posted revenue of $2.2 million in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.1 million.

In the final minutes of trading on Monday, the company's shares hit $3.29. A year ago, they were trading at $12.51.
