Federica Marchionni and Lands' End are parting ways after fewer than two years. The Manhattan fashionista and the Wisconsin khaki merchant seemed like an awkward match from the start. Stilettos and fleece don't really go together. But what truly signaled a doomed pairing was Marchionni's refusal to move to Lands' End headquarters in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, a bucolic burg about 50 miles southwest of Madison.
She has been CEO since Feb. 2015. She joined from Dolce & Gabbana USA Inc. where she was president.
Ms. Marchionni is the second CEO to leave the company since Lands’ End was spun off in 2014 from Sears Holdings Corp., which acquired the business in 2002.
