Dollar Tree beats by $0.08, reports revs in-line; guides Q2 EPS below consensus, revs in-line; raises FY17 EPS in-line, narrows revs in-line :
- Reports Q1 (Apr) earnings of $0.89 per share, $0.08 better than the Capital IQ Consensus of $0.81; revenues rose 133.6% year/year to $5.09 bln vs the $5.09 bln Capital IQ Consensus. The $2.91 billion increase included $2.70 billion in sales from Family Dollar stores, sales from new Dollar Tree stores, and a 2.3% same-store sales increase, on a constant currency basis. Same-store sales, on a constant currency basis, increased 3.4% in the prior-year period. Adjusted for the impact of Canadian currency fluctuations, the same-store sales increase was 2.2%. The positive same-store sales were driven by increases in both customer transactions and average ticket. Guidance was for low single digit comps.
