Jetblue Airways beats by $0.06, reports revs in-line; provides outlook update:
- Reports Q1 (Mar) earnings of $0.59 per share, $0.06 better than the Capital IQ Consensus of $0.53; revenues rose 6.1% year/year to $1.62 bln vs the $1.62 bln Capital IQ Consensus.
- Revenue passenger miles for the first quarter increased 14.1% to 11.0 billion on a capacity increase of 14.1%, resulting in a first quarter load factor of 84.2%, a 0.1 point decrease year over year.
- Q2 outlook:
- Year over year change in CASM excluding fuel and profit sharing is expected to be between negative 0.5% and positive 1.5%.
- Capacity is expected to increase between 9.5% and 11.5% in the second quarter 2016.
- FY16 outlook:
- CASM excluding fuel and profit sharing is expected to increase between zero and 1.5 percent year over year. This represents a 0.5 percentage point reduction to the top end of the previous guidance range.
- Capacity is expected to increase between 8.5% and 10.5% for the full year, consistent with prior guidance.
