General Electric beats by $0.03; reaffirms FY16 EPS guidance :
  • Reports Q4 (Dec) Industrial operating + Verticals (industrial plus GE Capital business expected to be retained) EPS $0.52 per share, $0.03 better than the Capital IQ Consensus of $0.49; Industrial + verticals revenues rose 1.2% year/year to $33.84 bln vs the $35.91 bln Capital IQ Consensus*.
    • *These results are hairy as co divests Capital, appliance businesses and just acquired Alstom; analyst estimates may not be directly comparable -- the 6% top line miss may be misleading.

  • Industrial operating EPS $0.47, Industrial segment operating profit -8%, -1% organic for 4Q; +7% organic for 2015; industrial segment organic revenues -1% for 4Q, +3% for 2015.
  • Record backlog of $315B, +18% vs. 4Q'14, +7% ex-Alstom.
  • Co reaffirms guidance for FY16, sees Industrial operating + Verticals EPS of $1.45-1.55 vs. $1.49 Capital IQ Consensus; 2--4% organic growth, core margin expansion, cash generation of $30--32 billion, and $26 billion returned to investors.
